Access Statement

Introduction
Inglewood Manor is a Grade 2 listed, country house hotel built in 1915 in the Arts & Crafts style.

We work hard to cater for the needs of all who visit us, and aim to make each guest’s experience as comfortable as possible.
We have 30 guest bedrooms, none on the ground floor, 19 on the first floor and the remaining 10 rooms on the second floor. The following statement is a summary of our provision. 

Pre-Arrival
The nearest main-line train stations are at Chester (8.1 miles) and Liverpool Lime Street (12.65 miles), with a direct link from both stations to our nearest local station Hooton (1.5 miles), approx 5 minutes by car.  There are a number of local taxi companies with accessible taxis, if required.  We can supply contact numbers if you wish to make a booking.

The text from our brochures and menus can be provided in large print if necessary.

We are happy to accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements, but would appreciate as much prior notice as possible.

Arrival & Car Parking
From our entrance gateway there is a long driveway leading to the main entrance of the hotel.  We have car parking for approximately 12 cars directly outside the front entrance to the hotel with 2 disabled car park spaces 10 yards from the front door of the hotel, with a level gravel surface, and a further 80 spaces in our overflow car park towards the rear of the property with a tarmac surface.  There is a 2 minute (approx) level walk from the overflow car-park back to the main entrance. 

The main entrance has a series of 4 steps (av. height 14cm) leading up to the front door.  A wrought iron hand rail has recently been added to provide support for guests requiring assistance.

If stairs are not an option, guests can gain level access the hotel from the car parks via the entrance to our Burton Suite at the side of the building.  A doorbell at this entrance will alert reception staff, who will come and assist in the use of a platform lift allowing access to the main part of the building. The same platform lift is used to assist guests from the main part of the building to the lower level where the accessible toilet facilities are located.

An alternative route into the hotel, for guests with mobility issues, can be accessed through an archway to the left of the main entrance.  There are 5 shallow steps (av. height 12cm ),  leading to the terrace, and we have a portable ramp which can be used to enable wheelchair users access to the hotel via this route, should our platform lift be unavailable for any reason.

The car park is illuminated during the hours of darkness.
We are able to assist guests with luggage if required, so please ask on arrival.

Arrival & Reception
On arrival in reception, guests are required to complete a registration form and are then directed to their room and our facilities explained.  Seating is provided in the reception and in the lounge.

If you would require assistance in the event of an emergency or evacuation, (e.g. hearing impairment) please let us know on arrival and we will ensure that you are evacuated safely. We also provide door hangers reiterating this message, which can be placed outside your room (on the reverse of our Do Not Disturb door hangers).

Public Areas - General (Internal)
We have a large open plan reception, with the main staircase leading to the first floor. There are 9 steps up to a landing where the staircase splits, with 8 further steps to the right and 14 steps to the left with a platform at 8 steps (average height of steps is 17cm).  Guests with limited mobility can request the rooms closest to these stairs.
 
Public Areas - WC
Guest toilets are located on the ground floor, through two wide doorways from reception.  Ladies door width is 60cm, Gents door width is 75cm. An additional, accessible toilet is located in the lower part of our ground floor area, accessed via a platform lift.  Please ask a member of staff to assist in the operation of the lift.

Restaurant
Breakfast is served in our restaurant on the ground floor and is accessed from our reception hall.  The entrance to the restaurant  is level, with double door width access.  High chairs are available.  The tables vary in size but are all 72cm high. Most chairs are without arms but chairs with arms are available.  Menus can be provided in larger print by prior arrangement. 

Background music is played during the day and evening, and candles are lit on the tables in the evening.

Vegetarian, Vegan, gluten free and most other diets can be catered for, but we do request as much prior notice as possible.

Bedrooms
There is central heating throughout the hotel.  Each bedroom has a ‘hospitality tray’ with tea, coffee, water, hot chocolate and biscuits.  In each room there is a hair dryer, a docking station/clock radio, laptop safe and a TV with remote control.  Each room has storage space which consists of a wardrobe, drawers, bedside cabinets and a luggage rack.

Average bed-height is 60cm; average width of doorways (room entrance) is 70cm.  Bathroom doorways average width is 63cm, average WC height is 43cm; average height of wash-basins is 78cm.

Outdoor Facilities
Inglewood is surrounded by 38 acres of level grounds and gardens, with opportunities for walking, running and cycling within the grounds.  We provide wellington boots in various sizes for guests wishing to enjoy the grounds when the grass may be wet. During periods of heavy rain, some areas of the grounds do become waterlogged and may not be easily accessible.

Also within the grounds there is a fishing lake, bowling green, and two hard tennis courts, all available for guest use.
