Activities for the Little Ones or the Young at Heart

Championship Adventure Golf – If the Open Championship has inspired you and the family, you can hone your inner golfer at this fun 18 hole outdoor golf course in New Brighton. Winner of the 2014 Wirral Attraction of the Year, Championship Adventure Golf is fun for all the family as all ages welcome.

Spaceport is the hot spot for all budding astronauts and robot fans as it offers a planetarium dome show, interactive exhibits on all things robot, time travel and space and you can experience stargazing in the observatory. If you are a Doctor Who, Terminator or Wall-E fan, this really will be a treat and is guaranteed to keep the kids entertained.

Outdoor Attractions to Explore and Have an Adventure

If you just want to soak up some rays or have a romantic walk along the shore, there are the stunning beaches at Thurstaston and West Kirby. At West Kirby there are also a few local shops to buy an ice cream or cold drink.

Wirral Country Park is great place for a kick around, a leisurely stroll and bird watching with picturesque views over to Wales. It is situated not far from Thurstaston beach and you can enjoy a spot of afternoon tea at the visitor’s centre.

Museums and Creative Spaces for a Bit of Artistic Inspiration

At Williamson Art Gallery & Museum you can learn about pre-Raphaelite arts and crafts, Birkenhead’s shipbuilding heritage and the history of the Wirral. Completely free and open 10am – 5pm Wednesday to Sunday.

In the picturesque village of Port Sunlight you can further satisfy your art thirst at Lady Lever Art Museum. This is another great collection of eighteenth and nineteenth century art and treasures.

Shore Cottage Studio is the place to go to explore all that artistic inspiration. The studio offers short courses for artists of all levels and what is more the studio overlooks the tidal Dee Estuary for inspiring views. Shore Cottage Studio offers needlework craft, creative laser cutting, photography courses and miniature fused glass seascapes in a really friendly environment.

Perfect Places for a Relaxing Afternoon in the Wirral

West Kirby Marine Lake has it all; you can go swimming in the sea, grab an ice cream and take in the beautiful landscape of the Welsh hills with a stroll around the lake. It is also home to the Wirral Sailing School where you can try sailing, windsurfing or canoeing.  This is a real highlight of Cheshire, not to be missed.

The summer is here and everyone wants to get outside to enjoy the sun and the Wirral really is filled with wonderful places to going walking or cycling and beautiful places to practice your photography skills.
