What to ask at your wedding venue showround
Preparation is key
If your budget (and hangover) allows, it’s always a good idea to have something planned for you and your guests to enjoy the day after your wedding – particularly if your venue is far away and people have travelled specifically for your special day.
Plus, as your wedding is one of those few magical times that everyone you love will all be in one place, it’s important to spend as much time as possible together.
So, here is a list of fun things to do the day after your wedding!
Have a BBQ
If your wedding is in summer, a BBQ is a great, budget-friendly celebration for the day after.
Whether it’s just for the afternoon or to kick off another night of fun, it’s perfect for keeping your guests around that little bit longer.
Some venues will be able to offer this to you but if not, there may be a park or green space nearby where you can host one yourself.
Or book a hearty pub lunch
Another option is to book you and a handful of guests in for a traditional Sunday roast at the local pub. Because you can never go wrong with homemade Yorkshire puddings and lashings of gravy!
Go for a long walk
A walk is a great way to clear your head and walk off that second (or third) helping of wedding cake.
Plus the day before will be over in a flash, so the fresh air will be the perfect opportunity to reflect on just how amazing it actually was, and lock in any memories and funny anecdotes.
Organise some live music
From the song you walk down the aisle to, to your first dance, and the final song your DJ plays to signify the end to an unforgettable day; music plays a big part in every person’s wedding.
So in keeping with this aspect, why not organise a traditional band or acoustic duo to set up in one of your venue’s smaller function rooms for a mid-afternoon singsong? Or for a more budget-friendly option, create a playlist of all the songs you listened to the day before – because it’s never too early to relive those memories!
Have a spa day
Because what better way to unwind from those stressful months of wedding planning than with a massage and dip in the hot tub?
Organise an activity
Your wedding venue might offer this to you; such as archery, an off-road driving experience or even clay pigeon shooting. Or there might be a water sports centre nearby for something like paddle boarding or rock climbing – perfect if you’re catering for the more adventurous kind of guests!
But before day two, comes the big day of course! Here at Boutique Hotel Group, we have three beautiful locations in the Cheshire countryside, perfectly placed for dream weddings and a range of fun things to entertain your guests with on your second day.
